Daniel Papadakis

Daniel's journey into education was firstly initiated when he was in Year 10. Sitting in a Mathematics class, the teacher struggled to explain concepts to the class. Fortunately, Daniel was able to grasp the information and was able to share with his peers what had just been taught. He then helped his classmates to understand the content. Since Year 10, Daniel has wanted to become a Mathematics Teacher. He spoke to many teachers around the school, ‘scouting’ for the best University to partake his tertiary studies with and decided on Australian Catholic University. Since then, when Daniel was asked “Why do you want to be a teacher?”, his immediate response was always “because I love helping people and I love maths”.

After completing his fourth year at Australian Catholic University in 2023, Daniel has embarked his career into the world of teaching after studying Bachelors of Teaching and Bachelors of Arts double degree, majoring in Mathematics and Studies of Religion. In his first year, Daniel is currently teaching two Year 9 classes, three Year 10 classes and a composite Year 11/12 Mathematics class. Delighted by the opportunity, Daniel has taken this chance with both hands and is ready to tackle the year ahead.

From a tutoring perspective, Daniel has tutored multiple students between Year 9 and Year 12. He began his tutoring journey in his first year of University and has tutored as recently as the 2023 VCAA exams.

Outside of the education world, Daniel is a football referee. He is currently in his 8th season and uses this to keep connected to the sport he grew up loving.

How We Started

As a teacher, Daniel's passion for teaching has lead him to think about how he can better help the future generation. Daniel wants to make a positive impact on the world. He knows it is an impossible task to leave an impact on everyone, but if he can make a difference to one, he hopes others will follow.

As the owner of a tutoring business, Daniel has the flexibility to handpick their tutors and select the best bunch to satisfy their clients and their students. We have a range of criteria that each tutor must satisfy to be selected, but it goes further along than just receiving an outstanding ATAR. Daniel is looking to improve in any way he can, as he wants the best for his clients and his students, so he is always adapting and looking for different ways to improve their structure.

Why We Started

What inspired Daniel to become a teacher? He found his answer in what he calls "that lightbulb moment" - the instant when a student exclaims, "ahhhhhhh I get it now." For Daniel, this moment signifies more than just understanding; it represents making a tangible difference in a student's life and successfully imparting knowledge. So, why did he decide to embark on starting a tutoring business? His motivation lies in extending that feeling of comprehension to many more students.

Daniel envisions offering students the chance to experience that "I get it now" sensation, promoting a sense of accomplishment instead of simply moving on after the bell rings, unsure of where to begin once they return home.
